Providing faith-based childcare since 1999
|
HistoryOak Forest After School Program and Summer Camp is a ministry of Oak Forest UMC. Members of the church body, saw the need of families in the church and community for Christian-based childcare, and began preparation for a program to meet that need. Through the hard work of many volunteers, the Oak Forest After School Program officially opened its doors in 1999. Since 1999 the program has steadily grown and a summer camp was added in 2000. During this period, the program applied and received a letter of compliance, GS 110-106, from the NC Division of Child Development, making us a state licensed childcare facility. In addition, a summer program for Middle School aged children was added in 2007 and a Middle School after school care program began in the Fall of 2016. In the Fall of 2019, a Half- Day Preschool was added.
Oak Forest ASP continues to serve families within the church and community, by offering a safe, loving, nurturing, Christian childcare environment, in which children can thrive and grow. From humble beginnings, Oak Forest’s childcare has grown into a state licensed, multi-faceted childcare program that has served hundreds of children and families. |
